About Adam Lassen
Rev. Adam Lassen, LPN, AAP-BC©, CAEd©, CDP©, CDCM©, CADDCT©, CDSGF©
Owner and Operator, The Gift of Purpose, L.L.C.
My work begins with a simple belief: every person deserves opportunities to experience purpose, connection, and joy. Through The Gift of Purpose, I bring together my experience in nursing, dementia care, activity programming, social services, education, and pastoral ministry to support people living with memory loss and those who care for them.
My professional background includes serving as an Alzheimer’s Care Unit Director, Activities Director, and Social Services Designee. I have also been involved in Alzheimer’s caregiver support since 1999. These experiences have shaped my commitment to practical education and compassionate care that recognizes the person beyond a diagnosis.
As the next-generation steward of the Gift of Purpose Program and the Reality Comprehension Clock Test (RCCT), I am committed to carrying this work forward with care and respect for its foundations. My focus is on helping families and professionals better understand a person’s abilities and use that understanding to support meaningful engagement, dignity, and connection.
Through The Gift of Purpose, I provide education and consultation for families, caregivers, and professionals, including guidance for using our themed activity kits and packets. These resources help caregivers offer activities that reflect a person’s interests and abilities, creating opportunities for participation and success. I also develop educational programs that connect dementia care concepts with everyday caregiving situations.
My credentials include:
-
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
-
Advanced Activity Professional – Board Certified© (AAP-BC©)
-
Certified Alzheimer’s Educator© (CAEd©)
-
Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP©)
-
Certified Dementia Care Manager (CDCM©)
-
Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT©)
-
Certified Dementia Support Group Facilitator (CDSGF©)
I am also a Qualified Personality Lingo Presenter, adding another dimension to my work as an educator and consultant. I help people explore differences in personality and communication styles, encouraging greater understanding, stronger relationships, and more effective teamwork among caregivers, families, and professionals.
Alongside this work, I also serve as a pastor. My ministry reinforces the values that guide my approach to caregiving and education: listening carefully, honoring each person’s story, and meeting people with compassion and respect.
Whether I am teaching a class, supporting a caregiver, or helping someone find an activity that brings a moment of joy, my goal remains the same: to help people feel seen, valued, and connected, with meaningful opportunities to experience purpose throughout their lives.
